Condolence & Memory Journal

I was so sorry to learn of Mary's passing on June 16th. It is always difficult to face that final good bye even when it seems imminent as it did because of Mary's age, not her demeanor. She was a most vibrant woman who loved life to the fullest. I spoke to her on her birthday and found her to be alive with the spirit. She was alert and on top of the details of my family which she wanted a full report about. We talked for a short time when she ended the call so she could go out to dinner for her birthday. She promised me she would call back but never did. Now I know why! She died on the second anniversary of my husband, Burt's death. I am sure he was there to greet her into Heaven along with Ralph. Burt and I first met Mary and Ralph back in 1975 when we moved to Manchester and began to attend St. Paul's UMC. Mary became my go to person when I needed advice. She always told it like it was when setting me straight. Oh, how I'll miss the chance to seek her out and to share our thoughts on a wide variety of topics. I hope the love of family and all the many warm memories of Mary will sustain her family at this time . My heart goes out to all of them as I offer my heartfelt prayer in sympathy that God will bless and comfort you in His own loving way.

I was so sorry to hear about Mary's passing.  It is always difficult to face that final good bye even when it is imminent because of Mary's age, certainly not her demeanor.  I had talked with Mary on her birthday and she was as vibrant as always!  She wanted to hear all about the family and the latest in my life.  She was about to go out to dinner so we ended the call with her promise she would call me back.  She never did; and now in know why.  She died on the same day my husband did two years ago.  I am sure he was there with Ralph to greet Mary.  I shall miss her dearly.  Mary was a very unique and special lady who welcomed Burt, me, and our family to Manchester and to St. Paul's UMC by taking us under her wing.  She was my go to person for advice from that very first meeting back in 1975.  She always knew just what to say to set me straight.  I hope the love of family and your many warm memories of this amazing woman sustain you through this most challenging time.  In memories there is comfort,  In time there is peace. My heart goes out to all of you. Please know that I am thinking of you and you have my heartfelt sympathy.   Sincerely with love, Janice

Mary was very special to us, and we will remember her sense of humor and smile.  The annual Christmas ornaments that she sent were eagerly anticipated by our sons, often had pizzazz, and always were unique -- like Mary.

In sympathy,

Bruce and Helen Erskine

I am truly saddened by Mary's passing. She was my adopted mom for many many years. She will definitely be missed.
