Rita E. Monnelly, 93 of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 20, 2017.

Rita was born March 3, 1924 in Manchester, NH, a daughter of Arthur & Margaret (Palfrey) Carreau and had been a lifelong resident of this community.

Prior to retirement, Rita was employed with the Pandora Company for many years.

She was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed playing cards and Bingo.

Rita had a very positive attitude in life and was known as an attentive and loving caregiver for her family and friends.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, John P. Monnelly.

Family includes two sons, John Monnelly and his wife, Geraldine and Mark Monnelly and his wife, Diane; one daughter, Gwen Timbas; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family is very appreciative for the love and care provided to Rita by the staff at Mt. Carmel Health Care Center.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Cate & Johnson Funeral Home, 573 Pine Street, corner of Harrison Street in Manchester.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Raphael Church in Manchester. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford, NH.
